The ChiWalking technique applies movement principles from Tai Chi to recreational walking, promoting energy efficiency and injury prevention. How you walk dictates how stress moves through your body while walking. This technique teaches you to cooperate with the forces that are working against you, like gravity and friction, enabling you to walk with less stress on your body and with less effort.
This is an all-levels mindful walking program that will benefit everyone. We will connect with our breathing, and practice being more fully present in our bodies, as we walk outside in the parking lot and on the bike path. Each class will cover a different topic, such as breathing, relaxation, and posture. In this class you will get to move your body outside in the fresh air, increase your mindful awareness, and reap the many health benefits of exercise and meditation. Each class will include a dynamic warmup, a mindfulness topic, and a group walk.
