CENTER BOOK GROUP SEPTEMBER REVIEW - ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE

We had 12 participants at our September 24th discussion of All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Several members were away on trips or had other commitments. Everyone loved Doerr's writing and marveled at the way he managed to weave multiple characters and plotllines together to create a heartbreaking yet ultimately hopeful tale. Most members have read multiple WWII novels and memoirs, Still, this particular story of Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, her locksmith father, her WWI ravaged Uncle, the gutsy Madam Manec, radiowaves, and German boys Werner and Frederick touched us deeply.
