FEBRUARY BOOK REVIEW

The Good Neighbor: The Life & Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King made for a solid read in February, the month of love. While the book was repetitive at times, everyone learned much about the multi-faceted man who pioneered early childhood education practices and almost single-handedly saved public television funding in the late 1960s. Besides writing nearly 1000 scripts for Mister Rogers Neighborhood., Fred Rogers composed operas, swam daily, ate vegetarian, and maintained a weight of 143 lbs. The magic number represents the number of letters in  I (1) LOVE (4) YOU (3).

Attendance: 13
